Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-American men, was founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University. The Epsilon Delta Chapter was chartered on January 22, 1958 at Kent State University.

The Ohio Lambda chapter of SigEp was chartered at Kent State University on April 25th, 1953. Since then, we have maintained dominance in every aspect of fraternal life on campus. It's no wonder why SigEp is the largest fraternal organization in the USA.
